Collecting trips are organised each Autumn and Spring to a variety of locations. Once permissions are obtained, the newer members are carefully guided by the experienced to suitable species and specimens. Conservation of natural resources is part of our educational policy. The majority of the collectable trees being damaged forestry road edge material or chain-sawed stumps etc. We have assisted in the maintenance of rare highland wetland areas by removing unwanted specimens from flooded peat bogs. Collecting from regenerating growth in quarries and clear felled areas is sometimes permitted by the license we purchase.
European Larch and Scots Pine collected as damaged forestry specimens.
